More website tweaks, some info about my game, travelling and upcoming plans

← Previous Post

30th August 2026

It's been quite a while since I've made a blog post. As you might be able to tell I have done some improvements and some cleanup on my website such as better compatibility with older browsers, performance improvements (my website can load in 17 seconds on PowerFox on my iMac G3!), a slightly tweaked gallery on the homepage (a full overhaul for the gallery is in the works!) and other more smaller changes that all add up to the point that I've called it Clygro Website V7.6, I think V8 will either happen later this year or early next year, I already have some ideas for it. I have also redone the blog posts with a next and previous post buttons so it's easier to navigate between posts and retroactively updated the design of the older posts because the old CSS was incredibly broken.

The remake of my game

As you may know, last year I was working on a game called Hayley & Ray which I made as a college project. Well I have been remaking it using a fork of Godot 3 with a bigger focus on making minigames instead of the story mode, so far it has had 3 updates released with a forth planned to release within the next week. Remaking it has made me polish the game a lot more and also it now supports much more platforms, it currently supports Android (4.4+), iOS(10+), Linux, macOS(10.5+), Switch, PS Vita and Windows(XP+) with more platforms planned in the future. It is also significantly more lightweight and has lower operating system requirements as well. I've also made a proper website for the game to give a proper showcase of the game which you can visit here

4gro status

I know in the post (specifically blog post 7) I've said 4gro will be releasing soon and nothing has happened since. Well I don't think much has changed since then but I've had quite a few new ideas for the direction of the album, especially lyrically will be like and I have an idea for the title and artwork for the album and a few days ago I did try and work on recording one of the tracks. So don't expect anything from me this year, but I think next year there might finally be new material.

Travelling and upcoming plans

Back in June I travelled to Edinburgh which was also the first time I had been to Scotland, but it was also the furthest away from home I had been as I've barely travelled by that point, it was also my first time being in a plane as well.

However all of that was very quickly overshadowed by a week later where I went to Thailand (Chiang Mai) for 2 weeks, which as you can probably work out was my first time outside of the UK. It was with my college in a group of 40 so I was a bit limited in what I could do but it was still fun and it also involved a 14 hour flight on the way there which went to Hong Kong then it was another 1 hour 45 minutes flight to Chiang Mai. I'll probably do a proper blog post about it at some point but it was really exciting. Anyways I do plan on making a little mini vlog series about my experiences travelling to other countries although I think the Thailand won't be as good as future series as I wasn't really intending to film it which meant I didn't record the first clip until a few days after arriving and I didn't actually film much outside of the hotel so it's gonna end up more being a recount series with some of it being me trying out various snacks that I bought there. Here's a very small selection of photos I took over the first few days, full blog post coming eventually.

Above Left: A nice view of Hong Kong Airport taken when boarding the plane to Chiang Mai. The airport is massive compared to Heathrow.
Above right: A photo I took very hastily as I went outside of the airport with some Thai road infrastructure (concrete roads, white and red kerbs, black and white sign poles and yellow diamond warning sign)

Above Left: A view through the Tha Pae Gate which down at the other end of the road has Wat Phra Singh Buddhist temple.
Above right: This is the Huai Lan reservoir, we did some team building activities here and then went to the nearby village for lunch where I tried Rambutan for the first time which I thought tasted fairly nice.

Above left: A rainy day on top of Doi Inthanon which as the sign says is the highest point in Thailand, this was a few days later.
Above Right: A view from the hotel from the corridor on the 6th floor. The white long roof nearest to the camera is the night market which was directly behind the hotel, stuff in Thailand is generally cheaper than what they would be in the UK, it's a pretty nice market and I bought countless things from there.

I'm gonna try to film a second series as in October I'm going to France for my uncle's wedding, I still don't know too much about how it will go but I'll try and get something out of it. Hopefully next year I'll try to do a solo version of the series. I'll also eventually add all the decent photos and stuff to the gallery but there is over a thousand photos to go through so it probably won't be up for a while and it will be after I've redone the gallery layout as well.
I'll probably have more time to work on stuff for the forseeable future as I am now done with college and I have very little of other things to do. The main limit is now my motivation to work on things. The last year and a half or so of my life has been incredibly dense with all sorts of things happening, it really does feel weird to think about how different quite a few things were for me 2 or more years ago. I would've never expected for me to go out and travel to Asia and have it be the first time I've left the UK but that is what happened somehow with quite a bit of behind the scenes work (such as getting my passport). Hopefully the future (for me at least) will be fairly decent.
